The IREB® CPRE (Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering) certificate is a globally recognized qualification established by the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB®). Overview of IREB® certification options
CPRE IREB® certifications are structured across different levels rather than being taught in a single training course.
LEVEL 1:
You begin at the Foundation Level, which introduces you to the terminology, techniques, and processes of Requirements Engineering (RE). This level forms the basis for the IREB® CPRE-FL certification. There are no prerequisites; those new to the role start here, while those working in agile environments can supplement this with the IREB® Agile Primer.
LEVEL 2:
The Advanced Level is divided into specific disciplines: eliciting, modeling, and managing requirements, or handling them within an agile environment. Each module concludes with its own certification. Successful completion of the Foundation Level is a prerequisite for Level 2.
LEVEL 3 + 4:
We currently offer training for Levels 1 and 2, as well as coaching for the Level 3 "Specialist" certification. This level builds upon Level 2, focusing on mastering and applying methods and techniques within a specific area of specialization.
Level 4, "Expert," is the highest tier of the IREB CPRE certification; IREB® does not provide specific training or a syllabus for this level. Prerequisites include holding at least two CPRE Specialist (Level 2) or Advanced (Level 3) certifications, along with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience as a Requirements Engineer, a written application, and an oral examination. We are happy to advise and assist you in preparing and submitting your documentation to the IREB.
Micro Credentials:
These are short, compact learning units designed to help you acquire specialized knowledge in Requirements Engineering. There are no prerequisites, and each unit concludes with an online knowledge assessment. The digital badge is valid for three years from the date of issue.
